National and Iberian Meeting of the World Heritage Managers

From 7th to 9 July 2010

The Institute for Management Architectural and Archaeological Heritage, IGESPAR IP, and the National Commission for UNESCO, with support from the National Center for Culture, organized the National Meeting of Managers of World Heritage, on July 7th, and 3rd Iberian Meeting Management World Heritage on 8 and 9 July, at the Monastery of Batalha. With these meetings IGESPAR and the National Commission for UNESCO aim to provide information on the implementation of the World Heritage Convention, to provide a space for reflection about the preservation of properties inscribed on the List of UNESCO World Heritage Site and promote the sharing of experiences and best practices among those involved in managing these assets. If not, for reasons of logistics and organization, consider the free entry of participants and in the case of workshops IGESPAR and the UNESCO National Commission decided to address invitations limited to the various entities with responsibilities in the management of World Heritage. Consequently, this event will see the participation of managers of World Heritage property in Spain, Portugal and Andorra entities involved in the promotion of candidates for World Heritage, representatives of the Advisory Bodies of UNESCO and other relevant entities.
